Featured Client ~ Lazard Dana

Lazard Dana was founded in 2002 through the merger of two of Savannah’s most prominent accounting firms: Lazard, Curlee & Company and Arthur Dana & Company. The merger resulted in the area’s largest certified public accounting firm with over 54 years of experience in traditional accounting, forensic accounting, merger & acquisition, small business services, tax compliance and much more. This year the firm was honored with winning the Alfred P. Sloan award in business excellence in workplace flexibility successfully using work/life balance concepts to meet employer and employee goals. One innovative feature of this work/life balance initiative is the organization of a shortened work week. While still providing the firm 40 hours of work as a traditional work week implies, this new work week format gives the employees shortened Fridays for their family and personal time.

The firm is organized by industry-specific teams to best serve their clients. These teams are comprised of experts in both the industry’s Lazard Dana serves and the accounting services they provide. They are the Architecture, Engineering & Contractor/Construction Group, Education Services Group, Employee Benefit Plan Audit Group and Small Business Group.

Check out their website for information about them in the news, the new building under construction, their career opportunities and details about their services. eMarketSouth has worked with this firm for many years in both accounting and website hosting so we can speak with credibility that they live up to their tag line : “To be the leading professional services firm by creating value in each relationship.” I encourage you to navigate their website and consider them in the future for your accounting needs.

Featured Client Buy Local Savannah

Buy Local Savannah has been a partner and client with eMarketSouth since before my time. There is a long history of these companies working together because local business is what Buy Local Savannah is all about. The group was started by local business owners who wanted to spotlight local industry and support community activism. There was also the motivation to keep national franchise industry from taking the entire local market. Who knows you better than your neighbors? The association not only highlights local industry but also offers a professional forum for business owners to network and share experiences. You can join Buy Local Savannah on their website and learn more about their events and speakers. You can also sign up for their newsletter and be kept informed that way as well. On the website, they feature buy local members and you can flip through the list of members by service/product category. If you have been in Savannah for a length of time, you will recognize many names and if you are new to Savannah, this is a great point of contact for getting involved. Remember, it pays to buy local!

Featured Blog … blog.coastalreg.com

Our featured blog can be found on the site belonging to one of our real estate clients. This client’s blog was developed for a few reasons … one, they were interested in driving more traffic to their site (who isn’t); two, CRG has invested in our internet marketing service and this piece is a must have to promote your site; three, they are local with a great feel for our coastal area and the advantages of living here; four, it isn’t really enough anymore to just have a website especially when you are in a fluid industry like real estate. So that’s how this whole thing got started. When I first went to their office to train them on using their fabulous new marketing tool, the agents who sat in on the training were not quite bought into the advantages of this web thing called a blog. Fortunately, the company has a bright, interesting and educated woman managing their office who took hold of the responsibility and has made it a great addition to their site. Check it out … blog.coastalreg.com. See what I mean? Charlene Overturf has written about industry specific topics while also highlighting areas in the coastal region that might interest potential buyers. And that’s what this is all about … driving customers to what you have to offer. While there are many good reasons to create a blog for your business, it is also a fun venture to research industry information and write about the impact on your business. Stay tuned for more featured clients and their blogs …
