Is now the time to buy?

Pros:

If you’re a first-time homebuyer, there are plenty of incentives for you such as the $8,000 tax credit.  All buyers have a lot of inventory to choose from.  And interest rates are expected to remain low.

Cons:

No one can be sure if we’ve hit bottom yet, so a house you buy today could still lose value.  Also, standards have tightened on lending in an effort to avoid what got us in the mess in the first place.
